In 2005 Thomas L. Friedman wrote the book The World is Flat to help people
understand the impact of globalization brought on by advances in technology
and transportation – he came to this realization after visiting Bangalore, India
and realized globalization has changed core economic concepts. What he wrote
about in 2005 is even more true today – the world is totally and completely
accessible, the ability to work across borders in real-time is unprecedented in
the history of the world, combine with that the ability to connect and be
educated from the top Universities and thinkers in the world at almost any time
is more than people could have imagined 25 years ago.

To think globally means to harness the avenues that are in front of you that can
connect you to the rest of the world. Those avenues are like the streets in your
neighbourhood and take you to different places and give you different
experiences and understanding along the way. Through those experiences you
learn and grow and have a bigger view of the world and life outside of your own
current circumstance. It can be difficult to think bigger than ourselves, but it can
be so rewarding. This is your opportunity to take advantage of the programs
